J. Michael Duncan has practiced law since 1993 with an emphasis on Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) benefits and claims. A cum laude graduate of North Carolina Central University School of Law in Durham, North Carolina, he was admitted to the North Carolina Bar and the U.S. District Court Eastern District of N.C. that same year in 1992. In 1999, he was admitted to the bar of the U.S. Court of Appeals, 4^th Circuit. Prior to receiving his law degree, Mr. Duncan worked for the North Carolina Disability Determination Services as a disability examiner for 13 years. His more than 20-year background and experience in Social Security has given him unique perspective into the Social Security system.

Well versed in Social Security matters, Attorney Duncan is a founding member and former membership chairman of the Social Security Disability Law Section (SSDLS) of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA). He has also served as membership chairman of the Disability Advocacy Section of the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers (NCATL). Mr. Duncan continues to remain active in professional organizations on a national as well as state level.
